It means one-on-one support by someone who is educated and experienced in childbirth.It always includes privacy so you can focus, no vaginal exams during labor unless you request one.It also means that labor and pushing go as long as you chose and you and baby are doing fine. It includes consultation about appropriate medical interventions when necessary. It means you being in the driver’s seat, deciding where to go, how to get there, and who you want with you, with the freedom to change course/companions if you desire. It includes prenatal and postpartum pelvic floor training, assessment and rehab.
